Authority & Accountability
Leadership &
Stewardship
Every meaningful community has a leadership structure. Here's ours — and what it is explicitly not allowed to become.
No False Flatness
Leadership exists here. We're not pretending otherwise.
Some communities claim they have "no leaders" or "no hierarchy." That's almost never true — and when it is, it's usually just unaccountable informal leadership wearing a flat structure as a disguise.
We take a different approach: transparent acknowledgment that leadership exists, combined with a clear articulation of what that leadership is and is not permitted to become.
The goal of leadership here is simple. To strengthen men — not replace their agency.
Sven Masterson
Founder & Lead Mentor
My role is to steward, not control.
I founded this community. I set its culture and its direction. I lead live calls, hold men accountable, and pour into the work of transformation with everything I have.
But I do not own any man's conscience, identity, choices, or life. My authority does not extend past the relational space we share. No man here owes me ideological loyalty, unquestioning agreement, or a surrendered sense of self.
I am accountable too — to the commitments on this page, to the men in this community, and to the values we've built together. If I fall short of that, I expect to be told.
Critical Distinctions
What Leadership Is and Is Not
These distinctions matter. Especially for men who've been under leadership that crossed lines it should never have crossed.
Leaders here guide and challenge. They do not own, demand, or punish dissent. Authority is relational — not absolute.
The measure of good mentorship is that men become more self-directed over time — not more reliant on the mentor. If you are becoming more dependent, something has gone wrong.
Direction here is offered, not forced. Men are free to disagree, question, push back, and ultimately chart their own course.
Respect here is earned through integrity and consistency — not demanded as a condition of belonging.
Accountability means we hold each other to what we've committed to. It doesn't mean leaders control how you think, vote, believe, or structure your life.
Responsibilities
What Leaders Are Accountable For
Holding and protecting the culture articulated in these pages
Modeling Ownership, Self-Sourcing, Unconditional High Regard, and Brotherhood
Creating conditions for honest challenge without contempt or shame
Welcoming critical thinking and disagreement — including directed at leadership
Remaining teachable, accountable, and open to growth
Ensuring that men leave this community stronger and more self-directed — not more dependent
Maintaining diversity of worldview and background within the leadership team
Let's Be Explicit
What We Are Not Building
A cult of personality around any single leader
A system that manufactures emotional dependency
A group that requires ideological conformity to belong
An environment where questioning leadership is punished
A culture that weakens men's self-leadership rather than strengthening it
A space where influence is weaponized to control rather than serve
The Standard We Hold
"Leadership exists here to strengthen men — not replace their agency."
